Step 1

In this guide for WAMP, we will show you how to install and setup database for WAMPSERVER. There are too many ways to create a database account, so here we only show one method which is the easiest, simplest, and security
Note: For different applications and/or users, you should create a new separate database account for each
To create a new database account, left click on wamp tray icon to access Main Menu and select phpMyAdmin which will pop up the login screen for phpMyAdmin where to enter username and password for user "root" (createdb2.jpg). If you do NOT have login screen or did NOT setup password yet, please check Setup Password guide

Step 2

After login phpMyAdmin, click on Privileges (createdb3.jpg)

Step 3

In the next screen, select "Add a new User" (createdb4.jpg)

Step 4

In "Add a new user" screen, input your desire informations; for example, I'm using "joomla" for both username and password (createdb5a.jpg)

Step 5

In the section "Database for user", select "Create database with same name and grant all privileges"; then, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click "Go" (createdb5b.jpg)
